Top Family Spots in Berkshire

We have recently moved to Berkshire and have enjoyed the wide range of places to visit with kids that I wish I would have known when I lived in London, as most of them are 1-2 hours drive away. These are our favorite places to visit when we have time away from school:

Bucklebury Farm and Deer Safari

One of our favorites, Bucklebury is where lots of parties are held around our area as it offers a wide range of activities. Between the newly installed TAG-X their new APE-X soft play structure, featuring 9 unique game modes designed around obstacles, agility, and competition, plus their extensive indoor soft play for younger kids, an outdoor adventure playground, interactive farm and deer safari where they can feed deers, we never get around to doing it all in one day. It is definitely worth a drive from London for a day trip.

The Pot Kiln

The Swan, Streatley

Beale Wild Life Park

It is a mixture of a wildlife park, with adventure playgrounds, indoor soft play, splash pool, mini driving range, zipwire and a train ride, it is also worth the day trip as you can spend a whole day in there

Englefield Estate Gardens

Open only on Mondays, it is worth the trip. With just a 5gbp entrance fee, it is usually very secluded and private and makes for a lovely day with the kids. Here you can spot deers, hidden giant swings and a magical pinecone cave to find. One of our favourites in terms of natural beauty.

Heckfield Place

Wellington Country Park

This is a great park for kids up to 8 years old. It has a little driving range where kids can ride small electric vehicles, a newly renovated adventure playground, a mini farm, Nature Trails, woodlands and finish the day with an ice cream by the Lake. You can also book birthday parties here and plan an overnight camping stay.

Windsor Adventure Playground

This one is definitely one of the busier spots but worth it. It is also closer to London which may make for an easier hope if you are heading from central London. There is no restriction in age so if you are one of those adults that always wished to go down those fun slides this is the place for you.

Cliveden National Trust

Located near Taplow Elizabeth train station, this is an easy stop from London. With its’ impressive gardens and woodlands there's lots going on around the estate whether it's for a gentle stroll through the formal gardens or a race through the woods. The kids love the maze, the gardens and finishing at the adventure playground. If you can offord the heft price tag, why not spend a night at Cliveden House Hotel

Monkey Island Estate

Tumblestone Hollow at Stonor Park

Just an hour away from London, Tumblestone Hollow is an adventure playground with a fairy theme build into the hills of Stonor Park in the middle of beautifull extensive grounds. Enjoy the pizza and coffee from the food truck and take a hike at the gardens after the kids are tired from the park.
